No integration with Face ID, Touch ID, or any biometric authentication tools
2. What We Do Process: User-Uploaded Photos
When you use Zito’s features (e.g., makeup analysis, look replication), you may choose to upload photos from your device. Here’s how we handle these images:
Purpose: Photos are processed solely to analyze makeup elements (e.g., lipstick shade, eyeshadow application, foundation coverage). Our focus is on the makeup itself, not your unique facial features.
No Biometric Extraction: We do not map, measure, or identify facial characteristics. The analysis is limited to evaluating makeup application and style.
Technical Process for Photo Handling
You select a photo from your device’s gallery.
The image is temporarily converted to base64 format for secure transmission.
This temporary data is sent to Together AI’s service exclusively for makeup analysis (not facial recognition).
Together AI returns analysis results (e.g., makeup tips, style suggestions) and discards the original image data immediately after processing.
Only the analysis results and a copy of the photo (stored locally on your device) are retained for your reference.
3. How We Use Your Image Data
The only images we process are those you actively upload to Zito. These are used for the following, and only the following, purposes:
Makeup Analysis: Our AI evaluates makeup techniques, color coordination, and styling to provide personalized feedback.
Coaching Suggestions: Generating tailored tips to help you refine your makeup skills (e.g., “Try a softer blush tone for your skin type”).
Progress Tracking: Allowing you to log and revisit past looks to track your beauty journey over time.
Local History: Storing analysis results on your device so you can access them later.
Your images are never used for:
Facial recognition or identification
Biometric authentication
Cross-app user tracking
Advertising targeting based on facial features
Social media sharing unless you explicitly choose to do so
4. Third-Party Sharing
We limit data sharing to the strict minimum required to deliver Zito’s features:
Together AI: As our service provider for makeup analysis, Together AI temporarily processes your uploaded photos. They do not store these images permanently, use them for any purpose beyond the requested analysis, or extract facial biometric data.
No Other Third Parties: We do not share your images or analysis results with advertising networks, data brokers, marketing companies, social media platforms (without your explicit consent), or facial recognition services.
5. Where Your Data Is Stored
Primary Storage: All images and analysis results are stored locally on your device in a secure, encrypted app directory. We do not store this data on cloud servers or remote databases.
Temporary Processing: Together AI processes images in real time and does not retain them.
No Remote Backups: Your data cannot be recovered from external servers if your device is lost, damaged, or replaced.
Data Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your locally stored data, including:
End-to-end encryption for data transmission between your device and Together AI
Secure, encrypted storage within your device’s app sandbox
Regular security audits to ensure data handling practices remain protected
6. How Long We Retain Your Data
Local Storage: Images and analysis results remain on your device until you choose to delete them. To keep your storage manageable, Zito automatically limits local records to your 50 most recent analyses.
Uninstallation: All app-related data (including images and results) is permanently deleted when you uninstall Zito from your device.
Third-Party Retention: Together AI does not store your images beyond the immediate analysis period (typically a few seconds).
7. Your Control Over Your Data
You have full control over your information:
Delete individual analysis records or photos directly within the app.
Clear all app data via your device’s settings.
Permanently remove all data by uninstalling Zito.
Adjust app permissions at any time through your device’s settings to restrict photo access.
8. Children’s Privacy
Zito is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has uploaded data through our app, we will take immediate steps to delete such data from our local storage.
9. Compliance with Singapore Law
This policy adheres to Singapore’s personal data protection laws, including the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). We do not process biometric data as defined under the PDPA, and all handling of your information aligns with principles of purpose limitation, data minimization, and user control.
